Hey reader,
I live in a very small town. The nearby city of Grand Junction has a population of about 70,000, massive compared to Palisade, where I live, but micro on the grand scale of cities.
Slow news days must be common around here. Twice now, the simple fact that I have solar panels on the roof of my house has landed me in the press. The first time was in a commercial for Solar United Neighbors, a co-op that brings together homeowners to attain bulk pricing on solar panels. I joined SUN in 2020.
This week I was interviewed by the local CBS/Fox affiliate, KREX, for the nighttime news. For a good laugh, here is the segment. I come in about halfway through, after the Zoom interview with Tanner from Solar United Neighbors:
Corny, for sure, but it excited me enough to compile this list of ways to be more eco-friendly when traveling. This is a topic I’ve reported on extensively over the past eight years, at Matador Network and elsewhere, and this week we’re swapping the standard essay for a resource list that is a rundown of some of this work.
The best way to take advantage of the resources in this post is to bookmark or “star” it so you can come back to it later when planning a trip.
